MASA Program – Israeli Institute for Community Protection

Wikimedia Commons, Quveaal For the first time as a MASA program, a five months program offering the theory and practice of the different Security disciplines is offered to young professional Jews from abroad, in Israel.
While the core of the program is an introduction with central issues of Security and the learning from Israeli professionals about the centrality of the Issue in Israel, the program will also provide the experience of living in Israel, among Israelis, Zionist content and the taste of IDF military life.

The program offers:

· Practical and theoretical Security trainings delivered by our fine professional staff
· Shooting practices in different situations and conditions
· Program will introduce its participants to the different kinds of weapons and ammunitions
· Participants will interact with IDF soldiers and officers
· Lectures and workshops delivered by Security professionals and high ranked officers
· Professional Ethics
· A month long military activity in Sar-El
· Krav Maga and Martial Arts lessons and practices
· Physical trainings
· Local law enforcement and emergency authorities will be introduced to the Program participants
· Basic CPR course
· Hebrew Ulpan
· Judaism and Zionism classes as well as an introduction with Israeli society and heritage
· Discussions of current events
· Field trips to different Israeli national landmarks

The program welcomes males and females.

The Program faculty and staff is made of IDF officers, politicians and experts of different fields such as Homeland Security, Self Empowerment, Zionism, Battle Field Heritage and more. Professional Counselors will also be available for the participants at all times.

The Program and dormitory are located at the resort village in Moshav Nordiya, only minutes outside the Tel Aviv Metropolis and the beaches of Netanya. The different facilities of the resort (swimming pool, dining room etc.) will be available for the Program participants. The program will enrich the participants with different challenging activities and field trips across the country.

The Israeli Institute for Community Protection offers a unique, fascinating and challenging Program, one that will enrich its participants with different tools and instruments from the fields of security and with an experience to remember for a lifetime.

Professional Program has 3 phases:

Phase 1: Basic Security
· Access Control
· Evacuations
· Security Concepts
· Search Methods
· Security Domains
· Security Equipment
· Radio Communication

Phase 2: Intermidiate Security
· Attach Cycle – How a terrorist plans an attach and where to stop him
· Information Gathering and counter observations
· Incident Management systems and how to deal with a disaster which affects the community
· Information and how to deal with it
· Threat and Risk and how to deal with it using all the above

Phase 3: Advanced Security
· Red Teaming
· Scenarios and Case Studies
· Tactical Verification Exercises
· Building a Security Plan

The ICP program will begin April or June 2010
The duration of the program is 5 months
Total cost of the program, including dormitories, trainings and Ulpan is $7,000
Optional MASA Israel grants of up to $5,000
